Which conditions is medical cannabis used for?
Whether cannabis therapy makes sense for you is something your doctor clarifies in the initial consultation. In our practice we see these indications particularly often, from chronic and neuropathic pain to migraine, sleep disorders and ADHD. Are you allowed to drive during cannabis therapy?
Yes, in principle. The medication privilege under German law (Section 24a (4) of the Road Traffic Act, StVG) protects patients in medically supervised cannabis therapy: if your THC level results from taking a prescribed medicine as directed, no administrative offence is committed, even above the limit of 3.5 ng/ml.

Yes, in principle. However, it does not release you from your responsibility: you may only drive if you are fit to drive and not impaired, especially while your dosage is being adjusted. Yes. Medical cannabis has been available on prescription since 2017 and has no longer been classified as a narcotic since 2024. With a valid medical prescription you may legally possess and use it.
