Lab & Diagnostics: your blood values, without detours

Practically every common laboratory value: from the full blood count through vitamins, iron stores and thyroid to complete hormone profiles for men and women. You can order individual values or combine profiles. We briefly discuss what sensibly goes together at your appointment.

Not always. Fasting, that is 8 to 12 hours without food, mainly matters for fasting glucose, fasting insulin and triglycerides. For many other values such as the blood count, thyroid or vitamins it is not necessary. If the values you want require fasting, we will tell you before the appointment.

Many standard values are available after 1 to 2 working days, depending on the laboratory. Special values such as individual hormones or rare markers can take a little longer. The results come to you directly from the laboratory.

The flat fee for the appointment, the venous blood draw and dispatch of the sample is €29. On top of that come the laboratory costs, which the laboratory invoices separately with you under GOÄ: individual basic values often cost only a few euros, large profiles correspondingly more. We discuss the approximate costs of the values you want before the blood draw.

Because the German scale of medical fees provides for it: the blood draw at the practice and the laboratory analysis are two separate services, and special laboratory services may only be invoiced by the laboratory physician who performs them. You pay us the flat fee of €29 and receive a separate invoice for the analysis from the laboratory, together with your results. The advantage: you see exactly what the analysis costs, with no hidden mark-up.

Blood values at your own request are a self-pay service, and German statutory insurance only pays for laboratory tests where there is a medical indication. People with private insurance can submit the laboratory invoice to their insurer; whether it is reimbursed depends on the tariff and on the reason.

Home test kits work with a few drops of capillary blood from your fingertip, which have to survive the post. With us, trained medical staff take a venous sample: more sample volume, more measurable values, more reliable results and no burst sample in the letterbox. The analysis takes place at an accredited specialist laboratory, to the same standard that GPs and hospitals work with.

Yes, at any time. The most direct way is the Cureal Health Report: you receive your assessment as an individual medical letter of 2 to 6 pages, with a detailed medical interpretation, therapy and prevention recommendations and a follow-up check after 3 to 6 months. Alternatively you book the matching consultation to go with your results, for example men's health or longevity. Or you choose the Longevity Check-up straight away, which already includes the detailed medical assessment of all values.

The laboratory report shows the reference range for every value, so deviations are immediately visible. For conspicuous or unclear values we recommend a medical discussion, at Cureal or with your treating doctor. Much can be tackled directly in the same building, for example in the men's health, longevity or weight loss consultation.

Everyone aged 18 and over. During pregnancy and breastfeeding we recommend agreeing the laboratory values you want with a doctor beforehand, so that the selection fits the situation.

Your data is subject to medical confidentiality and to the GDPR, and that applies to the practice as well as to the laboratory. Results are processed confidentially, stored in your patient file and not passed on for advertising purposes. You can view your data at any time.
